Do joint checking or savings accounts effect credit?
My gf and I are thinking of opening joint accounts.
They do not affect your credit score, but they do affect your name in Chexsystems. If you really want to have a joint account, make sure that you each have your own checking account first. That way, if anything happens to the joint account, (or your relationship with your GF), you both will have your own checking account to fall back on.
